Alicura Dam

Alicura Dam is by the Limay river that borders the provinces of Rio Negro and Neuquen, in Argentina.  Alicura is about 340 km far from Neuquen, and 110 km from San Carlos de Bariloche. The dam consists in soil and rockfill, with a clayey central core. The waterpower intake is connected to the hydroelectric power station through four penstocks having a diameter of 6,50 m and with a drop of about 120 m.

The power supply unit is made of four turbines, Francis type, developing a power of 250 MW each. Trevi's works concerned the execution of plastic cut-offs, tie rods and a grouting curtain for the stabilisation and the impermeabilization of the faults interested by the dam.
